How to use eFax

How to Use the eFax

The eFax system allows you to send and receive faxes by email. Fax documents are sent and received as email attachments. Only email accounts that have been authorized and registered in the eFax system can send or receive faxes.

To Receive an eFax

When someone sends a fax to your fax number, you will receive an email at your registered email address.

The received fax document will be included as an attachment to the email, normally as a PDF file.

To Send an eFax

To send a fax by email:

  1. Send the email from your registered email account.
The email address must be authorized in the eFax system.
  2. Enter the destination fax number in the email Subject line.
The fax number must begin with “1”.

        Example: 19055551234

  1. Attach the document you want to fax.
    Supported file types include:
    • PDF
    • TXT
    • Image files, such as JPG or PNG
  2. Send the email to: fax@voip.ms

Example

If you are sending a fax to 905-555-1234 from: kevin@wyslink.com

the email should look like this:

The eFax system will process the email and send the attached document to the destination fax number.
